Welcome to our new CEO

We’re delighted to announce Michael Woodhouse has joined Forté Health as our Chief Executive Officer.

Michael, who commenced in the role in early April, is a Chartered Accountant Fellow and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and a Master of Health Administration from the University of New South Wales. He is a former CEO of Mercy Hospital, Dunedin, and a Past President of the New Zealand Private Hospitals Association.

In recent years, Michael was a Member of Parliament based in Dunedin and a Minister in the Key/English Government.

Michael says he’s delighted to be part of the Forté Health team.

“Forté Hospital has a great reputation for outstanding care and brilliant staff, and this has been emphatically confirmed in my first month in the role. Forté has exciting plans for growth in size and the complexity of the services we provide. I look forward to leading the implementation of those plans while maintaining our ethic of quality, care and sustainability.”

Michael is an avid rugby fan, having played age group representative rugby for Otago and South Island teams and was a premier grade referee. He enjoys road and mountain biking, especially in the Central Otago region where he has a crib in Cromwell. Michael is married and has three adult daughters.
